Homemade Energy is a great do it yourself renewable energy guide that claims to help you slash your electric bill by 80% or even eliminate it completely with the use of wind and solar power. By building your own wind and solar power system for $200 or less, you can help make the change towards helping the planet and environment by reducing our dependence on fossil fuels. Homemade Energy was created by journeyman electrician, Ben Ford, who has tons of hands on electrical experience.

This manual has been around for some time and is one of the earlier ones I have read. But since I’m writing this Homemade Energy review after looking at several other guides, I’m happy to say that it is one of the best ones available.

I’m no different than anyone else in that I too am very interested in saving money with these projects but bear in mind that there is another “bigger” benefit to this all as well. Homemade Energy does an excellent job of putting some well deserved focus on doing these solar and wind power projects to reduce our dependence on fossil fuels and to help reverse the damage that we are causing to our fragile environment. Sometimes you have to be reminded of the bigger picture and I thank them for making that a priority.

I’ve used this guide myself in the past and have highly recommended it to many people who have all used it successfully. It is very straightforward, concise, and to the point without all the added fluff that many guides add to make it appear as though you are really getting more.

The diagrams and pictures are large and good quality making them much easier to follow. I’ve spent my fair share of time squinting at diagrams barely being able to make out the wording and it can get frustrating.

I really enjoy the system sizing worksheet that calculates your power needs for you. All you have to do is enter in your info for what lighting, appliances, etc that you use and it spits out your power consumption and component sizing (battery, solar panels, charge controller, inverter) that you need to power your entire home.

Because they put a good emphasis on being able to power your entire home, I also thought it was noteworthy to include in this Homemade Energy review that Ben gives a great in-depth look into battery systems and charge controllers. This is something that I think he does better than most.

I also like their focus on saving money using cheap and existing material. For example, they provide a great way to make wind turbine blades from scratch out of cheap standard PVC piping.

It is also worth noting that at the time of this review, the Homemade Energy guide was the cheapest guide on the market which deserves some attention considering most people are trying to save every dollar possible.

Ben even recently added a priceless 7 piece video series where he takes you through building a solar panel himself while explaining the entire process down to the measurements. This is a great resource for those who are more visual learners or want to be able to follow along with Ben step-by-step.

I have also followed up with many of my users who have been extremely happy with the email support that they provide. I thought some had given up on me since they stopped asking me questions but it turns out that they were getting better and faster help from Homemade Energy. I guess I need to step up my game.

So, if you’re looking to save a little bit of cash compared to some of the other guides on the market or you want a clear cut, no fluff added, guide then I highly recommend Homemade Energy. I know many novice do it yourselfers who are still using it because they are continuously pleased with the results.

Plus, Homemade Energy does their part to keep up with the competition by offering a 60 day money back guarantee to allow you the time to test it for yourself. So there really is no risk on your part. If there is something more you want me to cover in this Homemade Energy review then send me your comments and questions and I’ll keep it updated.
